For the third straight year, the Boston Aztec of the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) played an exhibition game against Women’s Professional Soccer’s Boston Breakers. The game will took place Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 6:30 PM at Reading Memorial High School in Reading, MA.
The Boston Breakers entered the league’s scheduled break for the Women’s World Cup. Several international players were unavailable due to the World Cup, however team captain Leslie Osborne, starting goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher and Breaker’s leading goal scorer and one of the team’s original five players, Kasey Moore, were available to head coach Tony DiCicco for the match.
“The exhibition match with the Breakers has been a tremendous success the last two years,” said Boston Aztec General Manager Brandon Nelson. “We’ve been able to engage with a large number of fans and draw a good crowd. Leading into the Women’s World Cup there should be additional excitement for the event.”
